Auditing - This committee consists of two members that audit the SDLA books each year. Members serve
two year terms. Pending review.

Bylaws & Procedures - Three members serving three year terms. The purpose of this committee is to
maintain the SDLA Bylaws and Procedures Manual.

Finance & Membership - This committee keeps track of SDLA's budgetary concerns with each administration,
and promotes membership among individuals and institutions. Two members plus two ex officio serving three year
terms.

Intellectual Freedom - IF deals with censorship issues, including challenges to library materials as
well as Internet issues. Three members serving overlapping three year terms.

Library Issues - The committee shall use any appropriate means to keep the membership informed of the
Association's concerns affecting the status of libraries and librarians. This includes keeping track of

Nominating - The Nominating Committee shall submit a slate of two candidates for each office to be
filled and shall secure the candidates' consent to stand for election. Four members serving two year overlapping terms.

Professional Development Grants - The purpose of the grants shall be to develop and improve library
services in South Dakota by helping individuals already employed in libraries to expand and continue their
education and background and to improve their expertise in the area of librarianship. Three members serving
overlapping three year terms.

Public Relations - Promotes the Association throughout South Dakota by issuing press releases about
Association activities or achievements, administers the annual awards of the Association, and administers National
